🔴 Five years of pain.. and the family pleads: Where is Ahmed Farag Zayed?
A painful plea is issued by the family of young Ahmed Farag Zayed Tantawy Awad, a student in the commercial secondary school, who has been missing since November 13, 2020, after being detained at the Egyptian-Libyan border, according to his family's testimony.
The family confirms that Ahmed was on his way to Libya in search of a job opportunity when he was detained and taken to an unknown location, without any official disclosure about his place of detention, and without being presented to any investigative authority for a full five years, in a case that constitutes a blatant enforced disappearance that violates the constitution and the law.
The family states that Ahmed was 19 years old at the time of his arrest and is now 24 years old, and that his father and mother have passed away from grief over him, while his five sisters — some of whom suffer from chronic illnesses — live in hope of knowing the fate of their only brother.
The family calls on the President of the Republic to intervene immediately to reveal Ahmed's place of detention, to allow his lawyer to visit him, and to permit his family to see him and ensure his health and legal status, and if there are any charges against him, to try him according to proper legal procedures.
The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights calls on the relevant authorities to quickly reveal the fate of young Ahmed Farag Zayed Tantawy Awad, to end the suffering of his family that has persisted for five years, and to bear their legal responsibilities regarding his safety.
